Many Thanks to Our Volunteers The success of any
major sporting event largely depends on the number and
quality of the volunteers it attracts. Rotterdam 2010 will
be no exception. Volunteers will be crucial to the
organisation of the 2010 Artistic Gymnastics World
Championships. As many as four hundred volunteers a day
will be needed between 8 and 26 October 2010 to make the
event a success, in a wide range of fields including (but
not limited to) administration, protocol assistance, media
services, opening and closing ceremonies, spectator
services, interpreting, venue operations, medical
assistance, information desks, transportation,
accreditation, information technology, etc. Hats Off
Over 300 volunteers took the time to fill out the
application form we posted on this site a while ago, and not
just Dutch ones, either. The Organising Committee is proud
to announce that it has gathered a highly international and
multilingual crew who will be on hand to assist the
gymnasts, delegations, judges, media and fans at the 2010
Worlds. Volunteers will be coming from Belgium, Germany,
Great Britain, France, Italy, Portugal, Australia, Canada,
the USA and El Salvador. In addition, many Dutch students
(most of whom are taking sports and physical education
degrees) will be on hand to assist the organisation.
Needless to say, the Royal Dutch Gymnastics Federation
considers itself fortunate to have so many volunteers at its
disposal. Their efforts will be vital to making the
Rotterdam Worlds a success, so we are grateful for their
help. In Anticipation of the Event... Those who
have kindly volunteered to help at the event and been
accepted as volunteers will be informed on the preparations
for the 2010 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships by
e-mail. |
