Getting to the Venue

By Public Transport

The Rotterdam region boasts a very efficient public transport network. You can get pretty much anywhere by bus, tram or metro. Tickets for one means of transport are generally valid on other means of transport, as well, so if you hold a valid ticket, you can transfer seamlessly from buses to trams and metro trains and the other way round without having to buy a new ticket.

To get to the Ahoy arena, take a Spijkenisse- or Slinge-bound metro train from Rotterdam Central Station and get off at Zuidplein. From here, the Ahoy arena is a well-signposted five-minute walk. Alternatively, you can take a bus (RET route 44) to Zuidplein and walk from there.

One-way tickets

One-way tickets valid for use on buses and trams can be bought from the vehicle’s driver. Depending on how far away you are from the venue, one-way tickets cost anywhere from €1.50 to €4 each.

One/two/three-day travelcards

A number of convenient day tickets are available to visitors to the 2010 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships. Depending on the length of your stay, you can buy a one-, two- or three-day travelcard, priced at €9, €12 and €15, respectively. Such electronic one-day or multi-day tickets are valid on RET buses, trams and metro trains, as well as NS trains and Connexxion buses within the Rotterdam zone.
